Charity shopping is a fab way to nab some lovely furniture for a decent price – and the money goes somewhere useful too.

But one woman got more when she expected after buying a set of secondhand bedside tables from a charity shop.

Mum Valencia Walker, of San Diego, was left reeling after discovering a note in the drawers that contained her mum’s mobile number.

The note, written by a young child, also included the landline number for her family’s home phone.

She shared the intriguing discovery on TikTok, where she set about uncovering who originally owned the drawers.

She explained the amazing coincidence in detail, leaving people open-mouthed.

She said: “The weirdest thing just happened, and I’m not making this up. I literally don’t care how many people comment and say: ‘Oh my God, this was staged.’

“I bought these nightstands at Goodwill today…my heart’s like a little trembly. This is really cool.

“So I bought them each for $12.99 and I go through the drawers and empty stuff out and I find this little crumpled up paper.”

“It legit says: ‘Carly’s home number and mum’s cellphone number.’ It has my mum’s cellphone number and our home phone number from, like, 15 years ago.

“My youngest sister’s name is Carly and that’s our home phone number.

“We have not had a home phone, probably like ten to 15 years. But what are the chances of that?”

Valencia then found the girl who originally wrote the note on Facebook.

She said eventually discovered the owner’s last name on another piece of paper and found the woman on Facebook.

People were left shocked by the incredible discovery – especially after Valencia pointed out that her city has a population of 3.3million.

In a new video, she said: “Some people were saying that it’s not that uncommon if you thrifted it in the same city you grew up in.

“San Diego County has a population of 3.3 million, so I would say there’s a pretty slim chance of this happening.

“It’s not the fact I found furniture that someone we knew had previously owned, it was the part where I opened the drawer and found my childhood home number.

“The universe is weird.”

The clip has racked up more than 300,000 views, and people were gobsmacked by her discovery.

“Perfect example of what’s yours will always come back to you”, wrote one viewer, while another said: “This is very trippy.”

A third added: “The universe is a big beautiful place that will surprise you at every turn. If I were you, I’d be pouring my soul into that love.”
